Retainers
Wearing a retainer is a simple, discrete, vital part of the long-term success of your orthodontic treatment.
Retainers
After braces have been removed, teeth have a tendency to try and return towards their original position, reducing the wonderful results from treatment. We advise that you wear retainers to minimise the risk of tooth movement, in order to stay delighted with your new smile.
There are a range of different retainers available. The most common retainers are removable, but sometimes fixed retainers (very thin wire) are also placed on the inside surface of your front teeth. We will advise on which type of retainer will best keep your teeth in position following treatment.
One set of retainers will be included in your treatment, however any replacement retainers will incur a fee. It is important that you wear your retainers as instructed. Retainers are a lifelong commitment and we will never advise that you stop wearing your retainers.
