Summer 2017 News from LSO
Daisy and Amy are both returning to work in September following the birth of their adorable little boys.
Look at these two little rays of sunshine – these smiles are enough to brighten anybody’s day.
Will on the left is Daisy’s son and Reuben on the right is Amy’s.
We announced at the start of 2017 that we had chosen 2 charities to support with their amazing works – Teenage Cancer Trust and Smile Train.
We had our first big event during June – 10 of the team embarked on 10,000 Steps Each Day Challenge. This was to support the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Three million steps, tired feet but fit bodies and relaxed minds later we are delighted to announce that we raised a staggering £1,360.
Many thanks to all that supported the team through this event.
Keep a keen eye out when you visit the practice for further fund raising activities. Our next one will be for SmileTrain.
You are more than welcome to suggest challenges to the team ….
Huge congratulations to Paula on becoming an Orthodontic Therapist.
Paula began her studies in August 2016 and in July 2017 she sat and passed her final exams. Photographs of Paulas’ Graduation Ceremony will follow early 2018.
We are sure that all of you who know Paula will enjoy her success.
Those of you that visit the practice will know that our team love to enjoy ourselves whenever we can!
On Saturday 5th August the majority of the team enjoyed a day of tenpin followed by eating (a keen pastime of most us!)
Much fun was had by all, particularly those that won various awards:
Joe - most strikes – although this was tied with Jen but after an air hockey show down Joe can lay claim to this title.
Jen – highest overall score
Becky – most interesting technique
Lucy – lowest overall score – well someone has to support us all!
Sandeep – most improved player

We are delighted to announce that Richard has recently been successful in obtaining a Phd in Clinical Education.
This was a long and interesting period of study for Rich and the team have all enjoyed being able to support him whilst undertaking this qualification.
We are sure you would like to offer your congratulations to him when you next visit the practice.
As many of you are aware Eleanor (one of our orthodontic therapists) has been away from LSO on maternity leave.
At 12 weeks old we now have a family picture to share with you of Eleanor, Elliot and their beautiful daughter Isla Lily Maynard.
Isla certainly has a personality that matches her Mom's ... although she hasn't yet learned to smile on command for the camera!
Many congratulations to Laura, our newly qualified Orthodontic Therapist.
During 2015 Laura was a student of Warwick Dentistry undertaking the Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy. We are delighted to share with you a photograph of Laura at her graduation ceremony in December receiving her diploma.
We have jazzed up our very ‘blue’ uniforms by adding personality and colour in the form of ™CONVERSE!
When you next come to the practice see how many different colours you can spot on the clinical teams’ feet!
We hope you like our new footwear as much as we do!
Many congratulations to Becky, our newly qulaified Orthodontic Therapist. During 2014 Becky was a student of Warwick Dentistry undertaking the Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy and we are delighted to share with you a photograph of Becky at her graduation ceremony in December receiving her diploma.
The team would like to take this opportunity to wish all our patients and the teams at our referring practices a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy peaceful 2015.
As you can see we all had a wonderful evening celebrating what has been a very eventful year for us!
Daisy and Chris are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter Olivia Grace Dakin on 21st June 2014. She weighed a healthy 7lb 11.5oz and seems to be growing really quickly.
Daisy is enjoying maternity leave but has missed treating patients and hopes to come back to create more smiles in the future!

On May 24th 2014 one of our Orthodontic Therapists got married to her childhood sweetheart and Miss Eleanor Fennell became Mrs Eleanor Maynard. The day started wet but soon brightened up and everyone enjoyed a very happy day full of smiles – none could quite match Eleanors’ though!
Just look how happy she is here
